The Living Heritage of the River Don brand design

In 2016 we worked with Don Catchment Rivers Trust (DCRT) to deliver a major initiative within the Don catchment area – The Living Heritage of the River Don.

The projects aim is to reconnect people, communities and decision makers back to the River Don. They achieve this by:

  • enhancing and celebrating its rich natural, built and industrial heritage.
  • Changing beliefs and attitudes so that the River Don and its heritage will be better valued as a major asset to South Yorkshire and better protected into the future.

The Living Heritage of the River Don is a fantastic project that encourages the once prolific salmon to return to the River Don. The project also signposts a long-distance heritage trail from Doncaster to Sheffield. It provides opportunities for people and communities to learn from the heritage that surrounds them and helps them develop new skills as they interact with their heritage in new ways.

Our work with Don Catchment Rivers Trust

Since we were established in 2006, Genie Creative has worked with many charitable organisations and community interest groups and began working with DCRT in 2012. Our work with DCRT includes the design and production of  the public information stand at Meadowhall. Having worked with them in their proposal to the HLF, we were delighted to be chosen to create the brand style for The Living Heritage of the River Don.

What our client said:

The design of the logo and overall branding of the project are key elements to successfully building awareness of the Living Heritage of the River Don. We believe the logo designed by Genie Creative positions us perfectly – it cleverly conveys a diversity of messages in a contemporary way without being overly complex. We love its “approachable” and positive feel and that it is very distinctive. On top of all this though, we really appreciate that it is designed to work in many ways; as a primary logo (in landscape and portrait) and as a supporting icon for when the Living Heritage of the River Don is not the lead”. Said Karen.
