About Diving Deep
HMS Invincible 1744

Since 2017 a £2million underwater excavation of HMS Invincible 1744 by the Maritime Archaeology Sea Trust (MAST) in partnership with Bournemouth University has grabbed the nation’s imagination.

A dedicated team of archaeological divers guided by Dan Pascoe, the site’s licensee, has been working against time in the Solent to reveal the wreck’s secrets in what is the country’s most significant maritime archaeology project since the 1980s.

Diving Deep brand creation

I was commissioned by the National Museum of the Royal Navy to create a brand style for the Diving Deep project.

The brand is designed to reflect the challenges faced by the archaeological divers. The team are literally battling time and tide as they recover as many historic artefacts as possible from the wreck. The shifting sands of the Solent are a constant threat as they can shift at any point and cover the wreck.
