Old haunts re-visited

Recently I worked with the Don Gorge Community Group to highlight a small piece of history on the river Don at Sprotbrough Lock.

I popped over to help the team install the sign yesterday … it had a few challenges, not least that the sign is positioned approx 3ft below road level and behind a wall … but, with a couple of 4m poles and some ‘graft’ we did it!

The finished sign looks great as it quietly informs passers-by about the Sprotbrough Water Engine and the man who built it, around 1700, Sir Geoffrey Copley.

On a personal note, it was great to go back to the Boat Inn at Sprotbrough … happy memories of proper “ad agency“ lunch hours (plural) with workmates from Publicity Bureau. Is it really over 25 years ago!

Over 20 years experience in the concept, design and installation of interpretation and information points for a range of third setcor organisations.
