Adding value through recycling
At Genie Creative we are are passionate about recycling. We recycle or up cycle all the waste we produce and apply this philosophy wherever possible.
For example: Over the years we acquired a number of pull up banner stands that were no longer needed because the graphic content was outdated. The stands were all premium quality Barracuda banner stands. Barracuda banner stands are renowned world-wide as arguably the best banner stands on the market. Strong, stylish and very reliable they have a build quality and mechanism that is second to none and it seemed a waste to consign them to the scrap heap.
In 2011, after consultation and testing, we began to market refurbished Barracuda banner stands as a cost-effective alternative to our new options. Clients choosing a recycled banner stand paid only for the replacement graphic which roughly equated to the cost of an economy/budget banner stand but of a far superior quality.
The recycled banner stands proved incredibly popular as they offered excellent value for money and engaged with clients aspiring to reduce their carbon footprint. Indeed, one of the first clients to commission recycled banner stands was, Environmental charity, Don Catchment Rivers Trust (DCRT). DCRT commissioned the design and production of two banner stands in 2012. As a testament to the quality of the recycled stands, we are now re-recycling the same stands to reflect changes to the organisation since the original commission.
Sadly (or is it happily?) all our surplus banner stands have long since been taken BUT our recycling principals still remain. So, if you have a banner stand gathering dust, then why not recycle it … it makes financial sense and it’s easier on the environmental.
