Genie Creative redesign Logo and Corporate Identity for DCRT
Genie Creative have recently completed the redesign of the logo and Corporate Identity for Don Catchment Rivers Trust (DCRT).
Having worked with DCRT for a number of years we were recently commissioned by them to create the logo and brand style for their Heritage Lottery funded project – “The Living Heritage of The River Don”.
Upon completion of the logo stage for this project it became evident to our client that their existing organisational logo was no longer suitable for purpose. The existing logo was visually dated, conflicted with a similar organisation and (as it had been created ‘in-house’) had limited scope for use.
These factors, coupled with the additional marketing activity connected with the LHRD project, determined the requirement for a professionally designed logo to work work across all formats and sizes including; landscape, portrait, single colour, spot colour and white out reversed.
Our brief was to design a logo that is clean and contemporary with a clear visual link to the previous logo. In addition the logo must reproduce accurately and consistently in all possible formats and applications including; clothing, signage, vehicle livery, website and other branded items.
Having worked with DCRT for a number of years we already had a good understanding of the organisation, its aims and ethos. However, as with every logo we design, our first step was to research the ‘market’ to ensure the designs we proposed fulfilled the brief, looked great and accurately position our client.
We submitted 3 options for the logo which did this and, after a short period of internal discussion, our client chose the logo you see below.
Once approved we created digital artwork of all logo options as vector eps files for use across all applications and therefore fully answering the brief.
